Ethiopia started and completed a brand new 756km (Ethiopia to Djibouti Port) standard gauge rail project within 5 years at a cost of $4.5bn.(Average cost of $5.9m per kilometer).
This rail project was executed across a stretch of very treacherous mountainous and undulating landscapes.
Yet, the Ethiopians roasted their government for doing the project at such high cost, when the world Bank estimated average cost of doing a kilometer of standard gauge rail protect across the world based on practical experiences was put at $3.5million per kilometer .
Rather than interrogate why their employees, who they elected /recruited to serve them, wasted almost double the amount spent by Ethiopia to do similar projects elsewhere , sane human beings are rolling out the national dance troop to celebrate such mediocrity and corruption infested projects
Before Buhari, Jonathan spent 5 years and did only 186km Abuja to Kaduna rail project and wanted us to crown him as an achiever.
The level of mediocrity and perfidy that some of us celebrate in Nigeria is mind numbing .
I pray that God will help us to borrow common sense and elect in 2023 , those, who can manage our resources prudently and create massive wealth in the land
