Lawmakers in the Abia State House of Assembly on Tuesday impeached the speaker Chinedum Orji. 18 out of 27 members carried out the impeachment at an undisclosed location. The impeachment was reportedly moved by Chukwudi Apugo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who represents Umuahia-East. Also, it was seconded by Okey Igwe of the PDP, who is representing the Umunneochi Constituency. The lawmakers are accusing Orji of gross misconduct and highhandedness.
