THERE ARE OVER 120 CASES IN COURT TO STOP IMO STATE GOVERNMENT FROM RECOVERING STOLEN ASSETS SAYS GOV. UZODIMMA
Embattled former Governor of Imo state and Senator Representing Imo West in the National Assembly, Senator Rochas Okorocha, rattled by the recovery drive of the Imo State Government has filed over 120 cases in various courts across the Nation, seeking to stop the State Government from recovering stolen funds and assets.
This was disclosed by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma when the National Leadership of the National Union of Pensioners payed him a courtesy visit recently and reminded him about the misappropriated N26.5B bailout funds received under the administration of Okorocha meant for pensions and gratuities, which he promised during his campaign to recover when he becomes Governor.
Gov. Uzodimma made it known that upon resumption of office, the issue of bailout funds were prominent on issues unaccounted for and further review necessitated a recovery plan as the funds had been misappropriated by the previous administration.
The Governor noted that his administration however is not deterred by these numerous legal battles instituted by the former Governor to subvert the course of justice. He reassured them of the commitment of his administration in the recovery of all funds and assets stolen from the state by anyone.
