Removal of shanties and illegal structures in Owerri Metropolis

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) wishes to notify the public that it has commenced the sanitization of the streets by removal of shanties and illegal structures within and around the Metropolis. This sanitization excercise will also involve the eradication of street trading within and around the under listed;

1. IMSU back gate to Chukwuma Nwoha Road extending to Egbu Road

2. Hospital junction to world Bank round about

3. Assumpta Roundabout and control by post

4. Orji Flyover and its environs

5. Amakohia Flyover and it environs

6. Akwakuma round about

7. Emmanuel college Round about

8. Royce Road/Rotibi Street

9. Mbaise Road by Douglas roundabout and all other areas within the Capital Territory where shanties are located.

Owners of these shanties and street traders are advised to remove and evacuate Immediately. This excercise will be carried out by OCDA in conjunction with ENTRACO and other relevant Government agencies are poised to ensure the sanitization of all streets and prosecute offenders.
