Tops in current affairs discourse and discussion in Imo State, include the menace of flooding across the State, particularly in areas around the capital Owerri. Indeed, it has become too worrisome coping with the current challenges posed by flooding in the State.
It’s more so when, according to insider sources, billions of naira have been wasted by Senator Hope Uzodimma via the siphon instrument of “balloon technology for flood control”!
As we’ve stated in another forum, the balloon technology for flood control is simply a combination of hoax and ruse. It’s a dishonest and insincere blomblo technology introduced to Uzodimma to assist him loot Imo treasury without fear or favour!
At least, Ndimo can see how after all the noisy hype about the blomblo balloon technology, flood is still asking Uzodimma “how nah?”, “how far?” and “how market?”
Ndimo can’t see how the balloon technology has improved the flood menace in Owerri and its neighbouring suburbs. Imolites feel that Uzodimma only used the blomblo technology to chop them serious mugu!
Though a natural phenomenon, why have Uzodimma with his uncoordinated sycophantic media aides and foot-soldiers been presenting the mien of omnipotence over flood with their treasury siphon balloon technology?
Wouldn’t it have been better to be humble while working out salvation for the flood menace? Now, nature too has shamed and disgraced by defying his balloon technology for deflooding of Owerri! Pride cometh before the fall!
Instructively, Uzodimma inherited from the PDP/Ihedioha RebuildImo administration a very functional flood management and control system that ensured the deflooding in the second half of the 2019 rainy season.
It’s most sad and quite unfortunate that Uzodimma squandered all of that on the altar of hatred and malice for everything PDP and His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON no matter how good.
Today, flood is back in big way with fuss of Adolphus, making life and living a nightmare in Owerri the capital of Imo State and its environs and suburbs. That has no doubt worsened the terrible effects of the Uzodimma-made insecurity in Imo State.
Life and living in Imo State under Uzodimma has become more unsafe and insecure than ever before. It’s a case of gross uncertainty of where the danger lies, as the people striving not to be killed by the bullets of known and unknown gunmen, risk being swept away into Otammiri River by both known and unknown flood!
Good leaders tap from the know-how and expertise available to them. If Uzodimma is so proud not to approach Ihedioha for leadership and governance, why can’t he consult with other knowledgeable experts on the issues and matters he’s clueless and incompetent about?
Uzodimma should learn what and how Ihedioha tamed the flood dragon within the award-winning seven and half months that he was the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Security Officer of Imo State.
Uzodimma should learn to do first things first. He must give home-grown ideas a chance to address homemade problems and challenges. He must keep away bravado and braggadicio. He must learn from Ihedioha.
It’s infantile and imbecilic for anybody to blame the flood menace on Uzodimma’s predecessors. The buck must be allowed to berth and rest on Uzodimma’s table. Defending his cluelessness, ineptitude and incompetence isn’t smart at all!
How did Ihedioha get it right? How did flooding cease in Owerri in the second half of 2019? What did Ihedioha do to empty Owerri of flood? Has Uzodimma tried to replicate the processes deployed by Ihedioha? Of course not! Why then is somebody blaming somebody else and exonerating Uzodimma?
In Uzodimma’s presence and on issues and matters concerning his established failure in Imo State, let him hear Ndimo tell him the truth. Only the truth can set free Uzodimma, Imo State and Imo people. The world is watching!
By God’s grace, Imo State must be rebuilt!!
