Gov Hope Uzodinma is happy over President Muhammadu Buhari’s nod to his requests during my meeting with him yesterday; vis-a-vis the conversion of Federal Medical Center (FMC) Owerri into a Teaching Hospital for the approved Medical School for Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
Mr. President also promised to look into lifting the suspension on the conversion of Alvan Ikoku College of Education Owerri into Federal University of Education, Owerri. This is following the institution’s compliance to requirements by the National University Commission (NUC).
Afterwards, I took time responding to press questioning on issues of State and National importance including the conduct of Local Government elections in Imo State.
We are committed to conducting the Local Government elections on or before November this year, but nature abhors vacuum so also is our constitution. It is on the strength of that, we appointed Sole Administrators in line with the law leading up to the election.
