Shell assured of protection for company’s properties by Imo Government

Posted on August 26, 2022 By thTV Admin, Owerri No Comments on Shell assured of protection for company’s properties by Imo Government

Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited (SPDC) officials, on Thursday, met with the Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs in Imo State, Dr. Ugorji O. Ugorji, to discuss plans for protecting company’s assets and mitigating security challenges at their operations in Imo State.

Led by the GM for Security, Mr. Bob Buss, and the Project Manager, Mrs. Abimbola Tijani, SPDC officials said they have returned to the construction of a multi- billion Naira Assa North/ Ohaji South Gas Development Project, but that they needed to be fully functional, hence the need for a security plan for the area.

Dr. Ugorji informed the Shell officials that the Assa Gas project is a priority for the government.

He assured them that the corridor is of great economic, security, educational, and political importance to Gov. Uzodimma and that the state would do all it can to give Shell the confidence to be fully operational.
