Ugwumba Uche Nwosu felicitates with the people of Mbaise as they mark their annual Iri Ji Festival

On behalf of my family, friends and associates, I join millions of Imolites, home and abroad to rejoice with the good people of Mbaise as they celebrate their annual Iri ji Mbaise, the New Yam Festival today.
The Iri Ji Mbaise festival is one of the most popular cultural festivals in Nigeria that brings sons and daughters of Mbaise, their neighbours, friends and relations, home and abroad together in a fun-filled celebration.
This famous cultural event is used to promote farming and agricultural activities as it announces the onset of the new harvest season in Mbaise and elsewhere in Igbo land.
It was at the event in 2018 that the Council of Mbaise Traditional Rulers installed me as the “Ugwumba Ohanile Mbaise”, a title that I so much appreciate till date.
By that significant recognition, I have continued to identify with the people of Mbaise till date and hereby wish them the best as they gather to celebrate this year new yam festival.
May the Lord grant you people abundant harvests in Jesus name!
